2023 MLB Draft Thread

Marlins have this unique ability to blow all of their first round picks but still churning out these insane pitchers.

Ton of prep SS' but AA will probably go heavy underslot. Just would like a position bat in the system lol.

Any chance that Houck has pulled a Jason Heyward and told teams ahead of the Braves not to pick him?

One can hope.

I’ll trust AA whoever he selects but I’d like a bat to or a college flame thrower who will move quick.

I'm hoping for one of the shortstops personally. Someone to mold behind Arcia. Houck feels like the dream but too good to be true for him to be there.

Waldprep if do go pitcher. Otherwise, i think you gotta snag one of these prep shortstops to groom behind Arcia.

I love me some good HS talent from Georgia so I would be ecstatic if we got him. I cant see him getting passed the 3 teams in front of us though.

2 more teams to get past for Houck. Prep SS are fixing to gin on a run imo. If Houck is there and him being from Georgia do they pass him up?

Yes, He profiles well defensively at SS and his bat profiles well. There could also be more upside because he is so young. I bet if he went to college he would be a top 5 pick in a few years.

Houck or Waldprep will be there for us.... Plus a ****load of other shortstops.

Come on Cleveland don’t pick Houck! Even if he is there I doubt the Braves take him. Seems to good to be true.

Still have Waldprep, and otherstops if Cleveland took Houck. But yeah, i dont think we'd pick him anyway, our 1st picks usually suck and we get stars after anyway lol.

One other reason I like players from Georgia, I feel like they are more likely to sign atleast one extension with the team if they develop. Its great to get an all star player but we want them to stick around for more than 6 years. And Georgia is a hotbed of talent. I think if we simply just drafted all Georgia born players we would inevitably hit a lot just based on Georgia producing so much talent.
