2024 Field

You two have been arguing for 4 pages on this thread now since this morning. Give it a rest.

Acting like he single handedly could have prevented State/Global lockdowns is impressive I'll tell you that. This was a coordinated attack at all levels of the globe. The Alex Jones listener in you knows this is the truth. This was carefully coordianted and it was in response to how good of a job Trump was doing fixing the world.

Certainly. He faced an uphill battle.

But in March 2020, sturg33 was saying Dr. Fauci was a tyrant and cannot be trusted. Sturg33 highlighted his contributions to the Wuhan lab. sturg33 said shutting down the country is a terrible move. Sturg33 said printing trillions of dollars was a disaster.

I expect the President of the United States to have at least as good a judgement as random internet message board poster

Yes - Trump made a costly mistake. But I think you're smart enough to understand that even if he removed Fauchi most of the global lockdowns are still taking place.

Fauchi would have been made out to be an even bigger matry doing TV shows all day every day. Going on international panels to push his lunacy.

Pretty clear to me that the 2024 Republican primary is going to lead to a civil war with conservatives.

If Trump wins the nomination, RDS will support him. If RDS wins, Trump will torpedo him 100%.

You'll be wrong about the latter part. But I hope we never have to find out.

I hate to break the news to you but there is a thread that documents none of this happened in March 2020. Instead on April 1 (haha!), 2020 you posted the following about very poorly chosen one's covid response:

I think the admin bungled the initial response but has since been well-above average.

post 1851 to be specific

you're correct... I was on hiatus before 2020... the lockdowns brought me back to the board

Fauci been around since Bush 1, right?

His job is to stop people from dying from this virus.

Trumps job is to do what is best for the country.

Governor job is to what is best for their state

I think Fauci's legitimate medical opinion is being weighed too heavily in the decision making process.

A more balanced approach would go against the infallible Dr. Fauci, and we've been assured this very thread how foolish that is

The damage has been done.

And Fauci seems to be doubling down. I'm not sure what he is seeing the rest of is arent?

Trump needs to make a decision based on the entire population not just the advice of Fauci and Birx.

I did give Trump the benefit of the doubt at the beginning. A lot of unknowns... and I remember fondly the leftist idiots calling him racist for shutting down the border... my how things changed.

But after a few weeks it was clear what was happening... and Trump bent over and took it

As you noted on March 27:

We were obviously slow to respond with regards to testing, etc.

It's quite easy for us, in hindsight, to complain about lack of foresight etc.

I'd say the last 3 weeks though have been pretty optimal response from the team.

Can we stop the part where we pretend global lockdowns would t have happened if trump fired fauchi and birx?

It was a decision by political leaders all along. They choose who to listen to and how to weight sometimes conflicting advice.

I fail to see what your gotya is here.

Reasonable precautions at the beginning of the situation, such as the ability to test people and keep sick people from spreading it to vulnerable made sense.

Once it became apparent that mass testing was useless .. time to move on. That you failed to come to that conclusion even today is still embarrassing

As for my original regarding Fauci, I didn't know who Fauci was in Feb 2020.

But as soon as he did his about face on masks, and as soon as he started floating lockdowns, and as soon as I learned he was funding the Wuhan lab with gain of research testing, I knew he was the enemy

That took me a month to learn. I expect more of a good president. Instead, trump gave him the country's microphone all the way til October
