2024 Field

Pence has filed to run for President and is going to announce today. This might be the saddest campaign of all the times. Certainly some people have gotten less support than he will get but most of them are nutjobs like RFK Jr and Joe Exotic who never held a position like VP. The only people who ever liked him were Christian Nationalists and Trumps got 99.9% of that vote on lockdown. I question where he will even find enough supporters to have campaign events. I will place the over/under on votes he gets in Iowa at 1500. I will take the under. The only question regarding his campaign is after which state will he drop out. My guess is Nevada. Maybe he holds out to the South Carolina primary. At that point I expect him to have less than 10k votes in all 4 primaries combined.

When Pence was named VP I doubt anyone expected him to be the man that saved American democracy.

Im still not sure who Mike Pence is before becoming VP or what he's done to think he'd be a good president.

I literally hadn't heard of the guy before Trump picked him.

If I remember correctly he wasnt even expected to win re-election as Governor. He's a Christian Nationalist so he Christian Nationalists thought he would be a good President. Well they did until he made the cardinal sin of not doing something illegal for their Lord and Savior Trump.

We could use the methodology used making public approval rating to
put Tommy LaStella in the HOF.

Last time I took approval ratings or polls seriously I was
certain HRC would soundly defeat Trump.

Plenty of polls had the race as really close. Guess what? The race was really close.

And North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum joins the GOP primary. Never heard of him. Most likely angling to get his name out there for a 2028 run.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campai...at,Christie said at a New Hampshire town hall.

Chris Christie comes out swinging. Calls out Jared Kushner for getting 2 billion from the Saudis despite his terrible investment record. We all know its for doing favors for Saudi. Christie likens Trump to Voldemort.

Little did I know Christie was the US Attorney who prosecuted Jareds corrupt Daddy who not only made illegal campaign donations to Democrats but hired a hooker to seduce his Brother in Law who cooperated with the investigation in an attempt to blackmail him.

He didnt, even if he tried to do what Trump wanted it would have been overturned in court. All it would have done is delayed the process.

Possible but hardly a sure thing. There was enough of a loophole Trump was trying to use that could have potentially been enough to give cover for 5 conservative justices to agree on. They wouldn't even have to rule. They could say it's a political question and leave things as they were.

I dont think there is any scenario where that plot could be successful. Overturning an election through those means would have been an act of war. It wouldnt just happen then business goes on as usual. It would have caused a constitutional crisis. In my untrained legal opinion it would satisfy the requirements for the second amendment. When the people vote out a President and his party just throws out the results how would that not satisfy the requirement of a tyrannical government. If that doesnt fit the requirement nothing would.

I'd call keeping the process operating as designed and as such avoiding massive civil unrest and a violent transfer of power to be saving American democracy.

Adams should really stop whining about the immigrants. Doesn't he know people have been crossing the border since the 16th century?

I don't understand your take. Using bogus claims as a reason to change the election results would result in violence and massive civil unrest. But it sounds to me like you are trying to justify what Republicans tried to do. They were planning this in February 2019 before even the prinaries.

Chris Christie in New Hampshire says he is running to take down Trump. Obviously that will be unpopular with most Republican voters but I think it's a smart approach in the long run. If Trump loses for the third straight time in 2024 I expect Republicans to finally move on and question if appealing to the extremists in the party is a viable approach to winning Presidential elections. They might come to realize that for every vote he adds he us adding 2 to the Democrat side. No doubt some will then claim to be Trump but without the character issues. I have never been a fan of Christie but any Republican who doesn't abide by Trumps forced censorship gets a little respect from me. Christie is Sessions level corrupt on the issue of legalization so I don't know that I could vote for him even if he does a 180 on that issue. That would just be an attempt to pacify voters and he would likely delay freedom for millions of Americans once in office.

I am continuing to be impressed by the balls on Chris Christie. I will even give him dark horse status going into the primary. I think Trumps going to run away with it but I think if anyone beats Trump its going to be Christie and not DeSantis. DeSantis tries to dance around criticism of Trump so as to not piss off his base. No one can win doing that. Even the people who like Ron will lose respect for him as he cowers from attacks by Trump. If only Chris Christie supported legalization I could get behind him.

Christie is nothing more than an transparent opportunistic ass kisser.
There are maybe 2 or 3 (R) that can go toe to toe vs. Biden
