If it was just Virginia, there would be a better argument that it's an outlier. When the democrat in NJ wins by a razor thin margin, it's time for democrats to get concerned. A lot can change in the next 12 months but there will definitely needs to be change to avoid a blood bath. The party of sitting presidents almost always loses seats in the midterms. Last night was a warning that it could be worse than usual.

Weird
Eh. That's ignoring voters' reactions to seeing the Dems with the bit in their teeth. They got full control by the slimmest majority and acted like they had a mandate and the majority agreed with their social platform. If it hadn't been for Manchin and Sinema they likely would have made structural changes that the country would never recover from. Biden has been bad enough to change a few minds and lower Dem enthusiasm. The social platform has changed a few more, along with driving turnout on the Pub side. If either of those things hadn't happened then McAuliffe would still be doing his goofy celebration dance. I don't think anyone believed VA was in play last year.
The youngkin campaign made election security a priority. The percentage of poll watcher positions filled was staggering.
You can’t cheat when people are watching.
Until the dems open up on election audits it will forever be curious how their participation rates jumped inconsistently across peer group cities around the nation.
Ummmmmmm what? You realize Poll Watcher **** was rampant in 2020 as well right?
Making election security a priority is great, but it was still a close race. If election security was the difference, then voter reaction to the last year of Dem governance was not. I guess I find the latter more likely than the former.
Youngkin sent a fruit basket to the Lincoln Project to thank them for helping him win the election. Savage.
