The point I tried to make which got the Rapid Responders all defensive was, rightly or wrongly it is next to impossible to run a national presidential campaign with this baggage.
Given DeSantis verbal give and take skill set

news flash: under current law the retirement age (for receiving full SS benefits) started rising to 67 last year...for people born in 1960 or later it is 67

I'm more concerned about Nikki Haley seemingly being unaware of the increase in the retirement age already baked into law. I'm been mostly impressed with her, so it makes it even more disappointing.

Speaking for myself I was mentally and physically checked out at 65.
As are/were many of my contemporaries.
50 years was quite enough
65 is the magic number. As is 40 hour work week, 8 hour day and 5 day week.

All converging in one direction - That is why the left is getting desperate with the bogus logic of the 'disqualification clause'. All these cases over time, despite the 'Principled Conservatives' professing they are SERIOUS, will be shown to be a bunch of bull**** and in lots of cases (GA for instance) swing completely in the other direction once the American people hear the evidence the courts never allowed the Trump team to present.
The only way Trump isn't president is if the squishy republicans don't stand up for the American people and their OVERWHELMING preference to be President. The majority of polling after the debate has shown just how pointless the debate was (maybe not for Vivek or Haley (ugh)).
Line I found amusing: "Regardless of which candidate voters support, 39% expect Biden to be president after the 2024 election, while 37% expect Donald Trump to be president."
Its almost as if the American people know that the left will cheat to win. When does the vote count stop during the 2024 election? Got to figure out how many tens of millions of fake ballots they'll need this time around.
One final piece - Watch how hard the left goes at smearing West leading up to the election. Its going to be disgusting and hopefully that can be leveraged to show just how little the Dems actually care about Black People.

eGOP is a vestige of the past. the traditionals that still think trade with China is a good idea as well as Interventionist policies can continue to support people like RDS/Haley/Pence and the like. That will continue to be a smaller percentage of the Republican voting base over time.
Populism/America First policies will run this country for a generation.

I don't know that Trump would win if the election were today. But the fact he is still polling so high despite the Dems countless, futile efforts to thwart him from running again should tell you all you need to know about their confidence in Biden winning re-election.

All of these charges are phony as crap and won't stand up in court. They have had 2 plus years to bring up charges. Now that election season has started, they are magically falling out of the sky.
LOL you keep telling yourself that. His poll numbers literally increase with every indictment. Meanwhile, Biden continues to lose support and his approval rating is poor. No POTUS has won re-election with an approval rating below 45%.
