2024 Field

Did Trump impose mandates? Did he force people to wear masks? Did he support states locking down past June?

All the things that you decry as the true injustices during COVID had almost nothing to do with Trump.

There was no vaccine to mandate under Trump.

He did not force people to wear masks... though I'm not sure how he could have...

He did support states (and schools) locking down past June.

My question was very simple and direct and I'll try again.

When is Trump going to course correct? He said last month "we did everything right"

Tell me what Congress looks like then and I'll tell you.

But he will be much more aggressive with executive action and for starters he will remove a lot of adminsitrative agents and install real patriots in places like the FBI/NSA/CIA/DOJ.

Let's say Congress looks exactly like it did in 2017 and 2018.

Is it fair to criticize Trump for not removing any administrative agents in his first presidency? Or does that require context

And I'm asking what Trump did wrong past the first few months.

But am I right in inferring you are assuming Trump would have mandated the vax?

Because its about projecting what can be done in DC.

You are HAMMERING trump for not getting these things done but simultaneously praising RDS for 'getting stuff done'. It just shows immaturity and lack of understanding. I don't know what else to do tell you.

I again don't understand this.

thethe tells me that MAGA is only about policies, not about Trump.

RDS brings MAGA to life in Florida, which is a really good thing to point to when advocating for MAGA policies across the country.

And the MAGA voters despise him.

there is only one reason for that, and it's obvious

All the criticism if valid and I've never said anything otherwise. You just lack the ability to add context because of how off the deep end you've become the last year.

When you don't know who the enemy is you are going to end up having a lot of what happened to Trump happen. His primary mistake and by far biggest mistake was not supporting Flynn. If Flynn was in charge of the NSA/CIA/FBI we would have been much better off.

Thats because you think MAGA is all about culture wars. RDS also has a voting history in congress that you don't care to discuss.

And this also completely skirts over the fact RDS escalated these actions months prior to announcing. Do you think that is a conincidence? Why didn't he institute these things in 2019/2020/2021?

And I'm asking what Trump did wrong past the first few months.

We've gone over it hundred times. He criticized red states for opening up. He bragged about shutting down schools in the fall. He continued to elevate Fauci throughout his entire presidency. He spent another huge stimulus bill on the way out the door. there are plenty of examples but we have rehashed it many times.

I see no reason to believe he wouldn't have done exactly what Biden did, as he was bragging in October 2020 that he was following the recommendations of Dr. Fauci

A reminder that Biden didn't mandate the vax for non federal employees.. I think Trump would have done the same, per Fauci's recommendation.

Impossible to know though

So I will ask you a very direct question and a very simple one a third time.

When is Trump going to course correct? He said last month that they did everything right

again... this is dumbfounding to me.

Are the policies advanced in Florida a good thing or not?

If they are good, why do you dismiss them?

As for why so much changed in 2022... I'll remind you the republicans enjoyed a landslide election victory (which was rare in 2022)... giving Florida super majorities in both the house and senate... making all their policies unblock able

A good reminder that passing laws is way better and harder to overturn than executive orders

Well since I don't think Trump did anything egregiously wrong that a previous person would have done otherwise I'm not sure what there is course correct.

If Trump could magically gain the ability to look into the future and know the outcomes then he would change things but you make decisions based on all the information you have ON HAND AT THE TIME. Something you just fail to realize which is why in real time you PRAISED TRUMP for his handling on COVID but now have spent months screaming like a 15 year old girl since you have the benefit of hindsight.

FOrtunately, we got lucky that COVID was nothing more than the flu but in a situation where something like this happens and its a stronger virus then all the precautions that Trump pushed ARE VALID AND SHOULD BE SUPPORTED.

Can you show me where I dismissed them?

Your argument is:

1) Look at all these great things that RDS is doing in Florida.
2) Look at how little Trump was able to do in DC

Therefore, RDS > Trump

That is the argument I'm dismissing because its a stupid argument that lacks basic understanding of how things work.

Fortunately Ron DeSantis (and Brian Kemp - who MAGA also despises) began analyzing the data and realized this was madness... and course corrected. Trump personally called him to tell him not to open up

To this day, Trump believes he did everything right... do you?

No Trump was not 100% correct in all instances and his biggest failure is that he didn't realize the trash that was surrounding him.

But Trump got messages out like HCQ/Ivermectin/Exercise/Don't be Afriad which you love to dismiss and hopefully he helped saved the lives of many.

Actually im not arguing that at all.

I'm explaining to you why I believe this is a cult.

You said earlier it's about policy, not about a man.

But you despise the person who brought those policies to life, and consistently dismiss the policies as not impressive.

I applauded Trump for saying things like that.

Unfortunately, like he always did, he backed down when he got criticized for doing it

lol... no. im asking you why MAGA despises RDS?

You spend too much time on twitter.

MAGA does not despite RDS at all for the most part. There will always be a fringe and the stupid influencer army wars that are happening right now.

RDS could come back into the fold any time he wants.

Although the commentary on the 2020 election results may throw a wrench in that.

Thats silly because MAGA fully believes trump is the right man for hte job so they support him.

And that's where all the "he failed to deliver his first term" criticism comes in

He also failed to beat Biden the first time

Then he failed to bring us a red wave in 2022

Then he got indicted 91 times

And he's old as ****

All that is to say that if MAGA is about policy, there is an obvious choice.

But MAGA is not about policy. MAGA is about Trump. MAGA is a cult
