2024 Field

It is a primary. He isn't running against biden. ^ what he said.

Rorschach test indeed.

Oh - He can't be talking about two different things or just one contiguous theme the whole way through?

Let me ask you a question. Every single time in the past when Trump has said 'The other side' who has he been referring to?

“Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he illegally stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong any [sic] why he got more votes than anticipated. Bad!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. The tweet disappeared within minutes of posting and was replaced by with another that no longer included the word “illegally.”

He followed up with an ultimatum: “Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified,” he tweeted. Trump said later Wednesday that he’ll likely sue. “I probably will; what he did is unthinkable,” he said during an interview with Boston Herald Radio.

we all know where this is going in 2024. but grandma maga will get the checkbook ready

Honestly the most realistic path to making it right is to mount enormous election victories going forward. The courts were never ever ever going to overturn the election, no matter what, despite what Steve Bannon says as he asks for more money.

DeSantis has proven in Florida you can clean this stuff up pretty quickly with competent governance. You gotta build real meaninful coalitions nationwide to take this stuff down. You can't have Rona McDaniel as the RNC chair. And you can't have the leader of the party constantly attacking and undermining the successful people in the party. Trump has proven time and time again he just can't get past his own ego... and that's why he continues to fail. He whined about GA in 2020 so we lost the runoffs, single handedly costing us the senate. And then in 2022 we all saw the ****show that came, while he simultaneously attacked RDS and Youngkin and Kemp (2/3 states he lost). Now he's attacking Reynolds and Sununu because they don't kiss the ring.

Trump will never dismantle anything because he's incapable of building any meaningful coalition to allow it to happen state by state. And beyond that, he's also just not smart enough.

Good luck with a coalition with guys like Kemp in Georgia and Ducey in AZ who said that their elections were fair and square and wouldn't budge and didn't care about changing anything preemptively. Even president DeSantis couldn't work with those two to change their systems. In all of the nation DeSantis is the only governor interested in changing the system because most republicans are scared to death to do it.

it's clear to me most republicans don't want to stick their neck out for a guy who will gladly throw them under the bus the minute it is necessary.

but after 4 years of whining and no success of moving the needle, and $250M stolen from grandma maga in the process, I think it's fair to move on to someone who has at least shown it is doable

They won't stick their neck out because they are afraid to and that has nothing to do with Trump. Most of them also believe election fraud is a conspiracy theory so getting change from them is about impossible.

Kemp literally handed the keys to Stacy Abrams to write the election laws that led to the steal of the 2020 election in GA.

That's why it's essential to win more elections than rely on a razor thin margins to get it done

and if you haven't noticed, as head of the party, Trump has overseen:

- losses in Presidents
- losses in Senators
- Losses in Representatives
- Losses in Governors
- Losses in state legislatures

this is 7 years now... at what point is enough enough?

That has zero to do with trying to win over people who believe election fraud is a conspiracy theory.

I disagree... not having a lot of electoral power makes doing hard things harder.

thethe always cries about his jealousy of DeSantis' success by dismissing it due to his super majorities. He's right about having more elected officials makes it easier to do bold things

Do you think DeSantis can change that? You want to blame the cult for Trump winning the republican nomination when the truth is that DeSantis is having a hard time with independents in the polling. That's a fact.

Don't get me wrong. DeSantis is by far the better candidate but you have to be realistic about things.

Yeah, I don't think supermajorities win over election fraud deniers.

Yes I think DeSantis changes that if he's elected. He took a 1 point margin in Florida to 20 points after 4 years of his governance. His competence is of like nothing we've ever seen from a candidate

but he has to beat the cult leader first... and the cult is large and very stupid. we shall see if he can do it. not doing so will be a failure. his odds are long

Yes, but the national stage is different than the state and the independents aren't coming to him.

I don't really care about national polls during the primary and still a year out

I think there's a ton of people who would gladly vote for DeSantis against Biden... or just stay home... but those same people hate trump so much they would still vote for Biden. I also think if RDS takes the nomination, they will replace Biden

we shall see.

It can definitely change. If we go into a recession any one of our nominees would beat Biden.

Independents will flock to DeSantis. They like the republican values just don’t like trump.

Oh yeah - Independents LOVE abortion restrictions and shooting migrants at the wall.

Again - I'm personally not against these positions but you aren't a serious person if you think 'Moderates' like them.
