2024 Field

Honestly I wish it took 51%. There are crimes with no victim that have only around 30% public support. And as we recently saw 40% got to impose their will on abortion largely thanks to a President who represented less than 47% of voters and was rejected by voters in favor of someone else by a margin of several million votes.

By the very nature of a 51/49 split 49% wouldn't support something. I don't think anything should be criminalized unless at least 2/3rds of people support it. Theoretically the constitution should protect people's rights against democratic support for something that is wrong but the problem is it's "interpreted" by fallible people unable or unwilling to look beyond their personal biases.

I get what you are saying about abortion. I don't think it's right either. I used to be very vocally anti-abortion much like I am about police. I could even go find old rants I posted here about it, but as a Libertarian I accepted I was in the minority on the issue and moved on. I was never ranting about marijuana legalization until it was supported by a majority of people. While I still disagreed I accepted it wasn't the majority opinion. Only once it became the majority opinion and it still wasn't legalized did I get salty about it. When it was the minority opinion we were told "if you don't like it then work to change people's minds on the issue and vote", so we did, and still got ignored by the federal government.

There’s a 100% chance, Cajun ends up on Locked Up Abroad if he ever leaves the country

1. I am not dumb enough to bring drugs across an international border

2. I stopped smoking a month ago.

3. I am scared as **** of going to a non English speaking country anyways. Other than Japan. I would love to go to Japan. They are ass backwards on weed but at least they are progressive when it comes to hookers. All I ask is for one of the other.

4. Other countries are way ahead of us on legalization including the ones closest to us.

If 3/4 of the people voted to give pot smokers the death penalty, do you think that is justification to kill pot smokers?

I would never support a death penalty for a crime with no victim. I could support the death penalty for armed robbers, rapists, pedophiles, and murderers though. Bring back hangings imo. My only objections to it would be the corrupt justice system convicting innocent people

A smarter man would have dropped out months ago and saved his political career.

But not all people are blessed with great real time judgement.
