His revisionism specifically regarding how Florida/RDS responded. Trump previously claimed in an interview with Megyn Kelly that DeSantis had a COVID vaccine mandate Florida. That's false. In that same interview, he claimed other (R) gov's kept their states wide open early in the pandemic when RDS did not. Also false. He makes the claim in his tweet that RDS was Fauci's biggest fan, which is just laughable in its stupidity. Fauci was employed by Trump and received a commendation (as part of the Warp Speed team) on Trump's way out of office.
He can and should do the things you say - celebrate the success of Warp Speed (the problem wasn't the vaccines, but the mandates), take a victory lap on the lab leak, etc. What he shouldn't do is pretend as though RDS governed COVID worse than Newsom, Cuomo, and the like. It's patently untrue and just unnecessary. But again, his base has proven to be immune to his distortions and lies, so I guess in the end it won't matter.

I don’t believe a majority of us that support Trump think he never lies or at best greatly exaggerates.
The dishonest arguments don’t stop with Trump however. RDS performance gets juxtaposed with trumps but not the same timeline. Early on every single place even Florida had varied levels of lovkdowns. Early on RDS praised the WH and Covid response teams. That doesn’t make him a bad guy because early on being conservative was the right decision.
Even some of the most virulent RDS online supporters have tweets from mid 2020 or later blasting RDS and how he was handling COVID. But of course the dishonest twisting of trumps performance doesn’t get a rise out of you and I’ve come to expect that from a lot of people.

Trump got (and continues to get) a raw deal on aspects of his COVID handling from many out there. I'd be way more sympathetic if he focused on defending his record instead of trying to convince me that RDS was somehow worse on COVID than Cuomo.
Fair point but Trump has been on the defensive from the minute he announced.
We will never know how great his four years could have been under normal circumstances.

Polls are ****ing weird right now. Latest Biden vs. X polls have the biggest spread advantage to Haley, who's 3rd in the Rep Polls. Lots of clutter in the polls though as the multi-way poll have Kennedy pulling 17% on the same ballot as Trump and Biden and we know that's not happening.
Halley is mostly unknown to voters. If she ever became the nominee her numbers would tank after D attack ads.
That’s why trumps numbers are important because who else is going to hate him? And quite the contrary Trump has been so exposed and so much have been lies people that once didn’t like trump are now moving over to support him and the polls are showing that now.
