2024 Field

Maybe a better sentiment for the Red State/Blue State thread, but if the Florida referendums on abortion and marijuana go the way they’re currently polling, it’s time for the Democratic Party to take a hard ****ing look at what they’re doing wrong there with candidates.

It's almost like.... voters like to make their own decisions on topics like these instead of letting the government make those decisions for them.... It is almost like the US Supreme Court allowing voters to make these decisions is something Americans actually want.

Shocking. This is my shocked face :-o

I don’t know who mgt is, but I’ll bite:

If this is true, it’s wrong. But is there any other information on this beyond a right-wing advocacy group stating it is?

This sounds the alarm bells for me. We’re not getting this information from Tulsi Gabbard. We’re getting it from a person who frequents NewsMax and Fox to talk about all the conservative talking points but from the perspective of supporting Federal Air Marshalls.

I’m not rejecting this on its face for that reason, but I think it’s worth proceeding with at least a little caution.

I mean you, nsacpi, and the rest of the board libs believe everything you read from anonymous sources about Trump. Why are you questioning this?

If you know military guys who are cool with Walz embellishing his military record and jetting before combat deployment you know some odd military people.

I live close to Fort Hood and a good portion I've talked to feel like this group does.

I think it’s reasonable to say many, if not most, service members tend to lean conservative. But a 24-year vet retiring rather than go to *Iraq* because he has a family and is planning a run for Congress just doesn’t seem to be a big deal to many. A lot has also come out suggesting the embellishment angle is a bit overblown. He served at the rank, and was administratively demoted because he didn’t finish the coursework within a certain time due to his retirement. I don’t see much out there suggesting he’s said otherwise.

I don’t, though. I don’t believe none of it, but you can generally check my posting history on the major Trump scandals and find I’m not really interested in them.

Its not a big deal if he didn't commit stolen valor.

Not even sure why you would suggest otherwise.

It’s great that they do. But I think if voters tend to support more liberal policies that the DNC should look inward at why they’re failing to capture voters. It’s not a conspiracy theory, it’s a call for the Florida Democrats to do better.

I guess my point is that his “stolen valor” appears to amount more to taking an extra mint at the doctor’s office when you leave than it does grand larceny.

Republicans run **** well - Democrats destroy the states they are in control of.

Its not hard to see.

You have to try really hard to **** up California.

Saying you were in a war when you weren't is the most cowardly thing you can do.

Soldiers get universal respect for putting their lives on the line. That is the definition of 'serving'. Otherwise, its just a job.

He was a part of the security operation in Europe. I’m not going to pretend he’s a grizzled combat veteran, but he also didn't entirely fail to serve in the war. Walz has even said explicitly that he knows he didn’t have the same experience others did and that he got more out of the military than it got out of him.

The problem is he is embellishing his record. I don't think it's fair to say he abandoned his unit in a vacuum. But he is the one stating that he went to War when he was nowhere close to combat. So if he partakes in stolen valor, then it's fair game to criticize the way he departed the military.

And yet he made multiple statements indicating his terms of service were that of a combat veteran in an active warzone.

Eat up any of hte DNC talking points you want but a solider understands the difference and the majority can't stomach even being in the same room as someone like Walz.

Not being in the field for almost two weeks will yield a 'honeymoon' impact in 'current' polling.

Lots of people are going to look stupid when this honeymoon period is over
