2024 Field

And lets clarify on my preferred tax policies.

For companies that are American and hire American workers their tax rates would be dropped tremendously.

Any companies that source their labor and products (where alternatives are available in the Western Hemisphere) from communist dictatorships then those would get tax hikes.

i think we might be about to implement this...hope it makes you happy

Hmm - I suppose policies take some time to come to fruition.

Not sure how many business owners you know but 2019 was about as big of a year as it possibly gets for them. I wonder why a once in a century pandemic was all of a sudden leaked from a lab then.

Obama had the worst recovery on record. You know this but have to pretend that the Trump presidency was a disaster when in fact it was the best one we ahve seen in fifty years.

And again - your fast and loose use of percentages is awful. Do better.

2019 was a very good year

but we grade by cherry picking one year?

i dont think at queens college they let you choose one question on the exam as the sole determinant of your grade

Long overdo. The idea that giving money to a communist dictatorship is fine because some textbook says capitalism is great is why our country is as ****ed as it is.

Hmm - Trends blah blah blah.

Budgets made based on future tax laws.

Consumption moving up as wages go up.

Blah blah blah

You know all these things.

Defending the Obama recovery out of Great Recession is a tough battle to make... The rapid response team needs some help

You should look at how the average work week increases under trump.

Then let me know your thoughts.

better than my thoughts i'll share some data with you

CES0500000002_47579_1628201620738.gif

Real weekly earnings growth:

2013 2.0%
2014 0.7%
2015 0.3%
2016 2.0%
2017 -0.6%
2018 1.0
2019 4.1

avg 2013-2016 1.3%

avg 2017-2019 1.5%

i give your boy a slight improvement here, but not terribly impressed

earnings growth accelerates during the mature phases of most business cycles when the labor market gets tighter...that's all that was going on there....but if you want to hail this as a sign of his genius be my guest

It's impressive that he maintained the same rate of job growth then, with the labor market getting tighter.

100% this. Good for the overall economic numbers isn't the same as good for the country. And we're still seeing the supply line problems globalization can cause.

job growth slowed slightly compared to obama's second term (the job growth data are in post 309) and wage growth accelerated slightly (the post you quoted)

it is kind of what you expect as you get deeper into a business cycle with the labor market tightening

i don't think our economic performance from 2016 to 2019 was bad...but also don't think it was anything special...i'd say the return on blowing a hole in federal finances with the massive tax cuts was disappointing....turns out the plutocrats sat on most of their tax cut with little in the way of trickle down

I'm in agreement with you on the tax cut. I would have liked to see it go the other way.

Yep. And voters flocked to him because he was willing to fight back. That should benefit DeSantis, and he is going to drive away fewer voters than Trump's antics did.

DeSantis is definitely smarter and more competent than Trump. But he is also not some sort of unstable psychopath. He has some conception of what the national interest is that is separate from his personal interests. He has an ego capable of handling losing an election. These articles that paint him as a smarter and more competent version of Trump are missing the elephant in the room. Which is he doesn't have any of the serious pathologies and criminal tendencies that Trump had. He will pander some to the crazies, but he himself is not a crazy. Big difference.

Sure thing. Until you say he’s worse than trump when he starts deporting the millions of illegals the Biden regime let into the country.

You better believe that is coming in the next administration.

So, just curious but is this similar to getting your daughter a sweetheart deal and monopoly on manufacturing cheap ass products in that same communist regime? Asking for a friend.
