Certainly didn’t wear masks outdoors for photo ops aside form when he tested positive in October.

Like I said - Desantis did well during COVID under very favorable conditions. Trump did ok under very difficult circumstances. I remember someone praise his early efforts when it was actually hard. Who was that?

I hope team trump wants to relitigate the records of COVID. It's DeSantis best shot of winning.
And I hope you remember just a week ago you agreed he performed better in comparison, resisting Trump's and Faucis please for continued strict policies, and he also regretted that it took as long as it did to pivot.

Yes - That is why I always advocated for age adjusted death totals. Overall hte death totals for COVID are a bunch of bull**** anyway but even age adjusted Florida was middle of the pack.
BUt we continually learned the ability to be outdoors is the best method and FLorida has literally built the state to prevent old people from getting sick.
LIke I said - Desantis did well and have not said anything negative about performance.
The idea he would or could have fired Fauchi is laughable (during Trumps time as president) when you see the actions that Desantis took in his state during that time period.
I hope COVID is litigated because as detailed in that thread the history is being re-written about the time when Trump was in office.
Desantis was amazing when the Democrats took over and tried to continue stupid lockdowns and mandates (Something you know Trump was never for).

I'd invite you to dispute the claims in this thread though since you believe that Desantis was perfect and didn't do anything that Fauchi and crew recommended.

I do not believe RDS was perfect.
He is a flawed candidate who has made.mistakes but appears to have the capability of learning from and correcting those mistakes.
I believe he is an upgrade

But I’m glad you realize that his response wasn’t perfect (or even the best in the country) and hopefully you learned something from the thread I posted.
I think people are going to be surprised when Covid is relitigated in the primary.

Need to be able to build coalitions. Need to be able to work within what is legal. And need to be be willing to dismantle systems that are designed to to undermine them(like the dept of education). And need to be able to resist the constant hires of deep state big government actors over and over again.
Also needs a big GOP majority.
Much has to work electorally for us to move the needle as much as humanly possible

I gave trump the benefit of the doubt at the beginning but he completely lost me by the summer as he completely bent over for Fauci over and over again. And then had the fall to brag about how much he and Fauci agreed during his reelection campaign. And then gave Fauci a presidential honor on the way out the door

Yup. “Gettting things done” sounds great but in reality a president doesn’t have much power to do that when government is divided. That’s why I’m not hammering desantis for constitutional carry not passing. He ultimately has no power to make that happen and even in this case despite having a full majority.

I'd like more details on your characterization of 'bent over for Fauchi'. I already showed you he technically couldn't fire fauchi and then I hope you would have agreed with the logic that once the cat was out of the bag Fauchi would have been given different microphones and the same results would have ensued. The fear porn being pushed out by MSM was always hte biggest issue.
You are mischaracterizing the award intention. It was for everyone involved in Operation Warp Speed, Fauchi being one of them. This wasn't a standalone award for Fauchi's performance during COVID. THe vaccines have helped at-risk and old people. It was a great achievement.
Trump pushed alternative thereupeutics and was blasted. He told people not to be afraid. Never wore a stupid mask outdoors in public (aside from when he tested positive in October) and trashed its use. Said mandates were an awful strategy. Criticized the insane amount of testing. Always said that young people shouldn't take the vax.
Given the fact that COVID was a bioweapon to attack Trump and MAGA I think he did ok overall. What more does Sturg think he should have done that are actually realistic proposals?
