Now we know we are getting our asses handed to us in Ukraine while Russia/China are reshaping the world.

There are some issues that matter and some issues that matter a lot.

Ukraine is a mess. Modern Vietnam redux. The difference here is we could have backed Putin down years ago in Crimea and avoided that. Our CiC at the time had less spine than a jellyfish so that didn't happen. But backing down would be devastating.

You have to look at it in terms of the entire world stage. Taiwan controls the superconductor market. If we back off from materiel losses in Ukraine, both Taiwan and China will take that the way they should. We can't. Losing Taiwan to China in the next few years will lose the new Cold War before it's hardly begun.
