nsacpi's metaphorical analogy is clearly also beyond your grasp, but he makes a good point. Voters are very insecure, GOP voters perhaps the most insecure, and they'll gravitate to any politician who mirrors their concerns, however ludicrous and unqualified the person may obviously be.

Trump is and always has been a complete fraud. He knows nothing about government per se, other that how it annoyingly restricts his efforts to grift more money from his naive "marks". Putting him in a position of power was an insane idea from day one. That plain fact has been laid bare for all the world to see and the GOP is in turmoil, fighting itself, largely due to having to go along with Trump's crazy lies.

The sooner the GOP can extract itself from the Trump virus, the better off the country will be.

That was over a year before you told me decertification was a real thing and going to happen. The only thing that could have happened was a non binding resolution making a statement that would have the same legal effect as yelling at the sun.

It was well in its way and the debate was on for January 6th in both chambers. Something else happened that day which stopped the process. Like in baseball sometimes you just have to tip your cap to a better move.

Biden is a long serving, successful politician who has always been, including now, respected and liked by his colleagues on both sides of the aisle. He is going to go down in history as one of America's greatest Presidents, who held the country together during very troubling times.
