Was he responsible?
I think you can attribute a small amount towards Trump which is what I've said from the beginning. The question is would anything have changed and you obviously know the answer to that.
Was he responsible?
According to chatgpt, leaders who publicly criticized lockdowns from the beginning
President of Brazil, Sweden, and Belarus were against lockdown measures. Additionally, republican senators Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Ron Johnson... as well as republican congressman Thomas Massie and Justin Amssh

The other side of this is even if you give him a pass for the 15 days... and I tend to give him a pass... he doubled down many many times after that.
Yeah he wanted Easter, and then he backed down after pressure. He threated states that opened up earlier. These are the facts. These are mistakes. He fired those families
Your entire defense of Trump is "he didn't know" or "he couldn't do anything about it" or "even if he didn't fail spectacularly nothing would have been different anyway"
With all this in mind, what is he bringing to the table?
Did people lose their jobs in those countries even though they were against the lockdowns?
But I thought Trump by sheer force of will influence the world?
Trump pushed HCQ. Trump said we should open Easter.
Why didn't those work. You just said he needed to be bold and against the grain. Should have have sent the army in to stop the states from staying closed?
Better yet did those countries still create stimulus packages to help their people?

I said give him a pass. Not excuse it away.
The initial shut down was a mistake. His doubling down on it was worse. His threatening red states for opening up sooner is unforgivable
Finally Vivek pushes forward a good idea. What took so long.

Where have I seen this before?
I expect some people not to see what’s really happening behind the scenes. Had to deal with that for the last 8 years. But for others it’s a big shock. Just a shame that desantis had his career almost taken from him because the “party” is mad the people support America first populism.
