2024 LF options

I think Rosario on a 1 year deal is a much better option than anything else. I don't think there's any reason to spend money or prospect capital to try to upgrade the position. I have heard Ozuna is working on his fielding. Would be great if he could full the RH part of the platoon.

Ummm

I thought there was some expectation at some point to use TDA at DH. Beyond that it could be used to get some bench players at bats since we don't use PH for pitchers anymore. Could also use that chance to give some players a break from fielding without losing their bat in the lineup. Rosario isn't a great fielder himself. How much worse could Ozuna be if he has a whole off-season to prepare. Its not a ton of games he would be playing in LF but it would help roster flexibility a ton.

TDA cannot be our DH.

Jorge Soler is likely to opt out of his deal with the Marlins and will be a FA. But makes Ozuna redundant.

A Soler / Pederson platoon would be fantastic with Ozuna at DH

I was hoping for a bit more intelligent discussion than suggestions like having Soler in a platoon or Ozuna in the OF.

Assuming there’s nobody worth giving $100M+, we should probably figure on something resembling a platoon. So I’m thinking Heyward/Grichuk or Rosario/Grichuk would be pretty good value.

I dont follow the team like I used to. I wasnt aware asking Ozuna to play LF in 20% of games was too much to ask. I heard he was working on fielding and assumed it was LF he was working on. Dudes only 32. How does one go from playing CF for 1000 innings in 2016 to unable to stand in LF in 2023.

If you'd watched him at all last season, you'd know. He's terrible out there.

Rosario and someone else on the RH side of the platoon makes the most sense. Pillar's been fine but i'd try to get someone with a little more upside in the bat incase Rosario flops next year.

I would rather just get someone who slots in everyday.. then work on getting a couple super subs that are interchangable in multiple spots.

My dream scenario to make that happen - Tampa floats Randy Arozarena out in trades before he heads into his Arb 2 season and starts to get more expensive.

Obviously unlikely, and I'm not sure we'd even have the trade pieces to get him, but that's my dream.

Luis Robert is mine but he's seemed to be untouchable.
