2025-2026 offseason thread

This coming Tuesday is the deadline to protect players from the Rule 5 draft, so I won't be surprised to see more waiver movement in the next week.

Walker is the more interesting of the two. Apparently, the Orioles signed him to a guaranteed MLB deal before DFA'ing him, so we are now taking on that obligation. Velo + swing and miss stuff from the left side. Out of options, and his numbers the past couple years are pretty scary. He's known to Hefner though, so maybe he sees something.

Ragsdale seems like a guy whose main value is that he has MiLB options.

I mean, I have MiLB options too

It's not a long list of players the Braves have to protect, but I think Burkhalter has to go on the 40-man or be made available in the Rule 5.

Tromp is back. Frankly, I like it. Solid backup who can step in when needed and not be embarrassing.

I don’t know what it means about Murphy, but I like Tromp.

I saw it earlier and wondered. Teams know what they'll get in Murphy and at a good price. He should be even better coming back from the hip since it's been bothering him this long. I wonder if they'd trade him to free up more cash.

Let me throw a darkhorse candidate out there. Brad Keller. I dont know what the Cubs did but he added 3.5 mph to his fastballs and became an elite reliever. He also went to high school in GA. He is a former SP and his velocity spike wasnt just from going to the pen. Rumors are some teams want to try him as a starter. I would assume a deal similar to Clay Holmes is what he will get.
