Castro is a pretty good utility guy. Quality depth. He can play infield and OF like Dubon and I'd rather have him on the roster than Eli White. I'd still love to have Kim back and have Castro and Dubon on the bench.

Yeah I would call interest in Castro encouraging. Seems like proof that AA learned a hard lesson about depth last year. Kim, Castro, and an innings eater or a couple of swingmen and I would feel pretty good.

Still need another outfield bat. Can’t have both either Castro and Dubon in the lineup everyday. But then I guess there’s Murphy/Baldwin.

AA can spin it all he wants but most fans know we need another good bat to rotate. What scares me is he is starting to spin the rotation as it's a lot better than last year already to prep us for not getting another SP.

No he’s not ok. He’s never been ok, and he’s not ever gonna be ok. Not until AA spends some serious money on this team. He’s about as ok as Michael Harris and Mark Bowman in the buffet line at fat camp staring at a pile of mushy broccoli and sliced up cucumber.

I don't think any of this smells of payroll constraints, but I'll absolutely feel this way until they actually sign a needle-mover.
