I don't think they spend on Yaz if they are strapped. Especially still needing a SS, SP, and RPAnother good depth signing that the team has been needing. No more Eli White's hopefully. Getting Kim back would really shore up the position player side of the team. No idea what kind of funds are left.
I'd rather have Suraez. Kenley is going for 300 saves and is gonna be pissed if he's not the closer.Being greedy, I’d really like to keep Murphy and still spend big on a SS bat and a SP and Kenley in the pen.
Jansen won't sign anywhere where he isn't the clear closer, imo. That's mostly why he signed with LA last year.I'd rather have Suraez. Kenley is going for 300 saves and is gonna be pissed if he's not the closer.
An injured AJSS isn't getting Lawler. Waldrep might.AJSS for Jordan lawlar? Who says no? Would having to wait on AJSS kill this one?
Maybe a Richie for lawlar deal would make more sense for both teams.
Then they can keep him. Waldrep has had way more success so far.An injured AJSS isn't getting Lawler. Waldrep might.
But I don't imagine we would use arguably our most valuable trade piece on an unproven SS, even one as talented as Lawler.
Agreed, I don’t really want to move either because you can easily see the toolsAn injured AJSS isn't getting Lawler. Waldrep might.

Again, it would surprise me to us trade for him. But I wouldn't let his cup of tea in the majors sway your view of him too much. He is a natural SS that primarily played 2 positions he had little or no experience at. Offensively, 74 PAs isn't enough data to get a read on him, but certainly the EVs weren't super encouraging. Then they can keep him. Waldrep has had way more success so far.
Lawlar in 42 mlb games...
.165/.241/.237
.235 xwoba
34 wrc+
And he was a negative defender last season.
I would certainly still be interested, but not Waldrep interested
ETA... since I feel so adverse to Waldrep that probably means it's about right value wise. I just really don't wanna let Waldrep walk when he seems to be figuring it out. I think he's gonna be a stud
Definitely still need a BP piece or two- Innings eater to keep some swing men in the BP.
- SS
That’s all I’m really after at this point.
Agree. I do not have an issue paying Murphy that at all to split catching duties and give DH bats. We’ll see, but I’m fine paying him that. Let Baldwin continue learning from him. Murphy did wonders for Waldrep last year and turned his career around.
Same feelings for me on the signing. I don't think Yaz moves the needle much, but he surely is an upgrade in terms of depth.Another good depth signing that the team has been needing. No more Eli White's hopefully. Getting Kim back would really shore up the position player side of the team. No idea what kind of funds are left.
