2025-2026 offseason thread

Getting Kim on a one-year deal is fantastic.

Estimated payroll on FG now at $260m. Estimated luxury tax payroll is $256m, putting them above the first threshold. FWIW, in 2024 the luxury tax payroll finished just a hair below the third threshold.

I credit AA, man. He mentioned a higher payroll and was open about having multiple holes in the roster. I'd argue the Suarez signing was flashy, but he's otherwise added MLB-quality players around the edges to improve the roster and add flexibility.

At this rate, there's almost no way the Braves stop spending. Kim puts the Braves about $8 million over the first tax threshold, with $12 million until the second threshold. They could possibly spend up to $22 million without any draft pick penalties and still have about $10 million for the trade deadline.

Heck yeah. We saved all of our ammo in case they wanna trade for a SP now. Joe Ryan's salary is cheap and he fits that mold but he'll cost a penny penny in prospects. I like Michael King but he's not worth the pick and bonus money imo and Valdez is a douche. I think we'll see them make a trade for a SP. I knew they would spend money this offseason after last year and resetting the tax. If he somehow gets another frontline SP look out.
