2025-2026 offseason thread

The Braves aren’t the only team that viewed Kim as a solid rebound candidate. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported that the 30-year-old rebuffed interest from clubs willing to go multiple years in order to get back to the market next winter. The Tigers were the only other team publicly linked to Kim this offseason, though clubs like the Giants and Pirates are known to be pursuing infield help. MLBTR had predicted Kim would receive a two-year, $30MM contract with an opt-out after the first season. He opts for the straight one-year deal at a higher salary to bet on himself.

Looks like the Braves really lucked into that deal..

The Braves gave Kim what he wanted.. 1 year higher AAV.. everything else is just noise.

Would you like to write up an apology form for me to sign or something?

Most people expected Kim to get around Murphy’s contract. He took less money and years to stay in Atlanta. I confess that I do not know how much less. Considering Murphy is one of the best catchers in the league when healthy, yes I think he has more value than a 2.5-3.5 WAR SS.
I'll fax one right over.

Or I mean you could simply not keep arguing the point after he signed for 25 million less than the 3/45 you thought he was gonna get. But I guess I'll settle for this post..

The point about Murphy is that he hasn't been healthy or performing like the best catcher in the league for over 2 years now. And now he's out for an undisclosed amount of time.

You are the one who brought it up lol absolutely bizarre behavior.

I still think we might dump Lopez in the right trade. He has no real trade value, but I think he's got enough upside that someone would be willing to take him to off-set some salary in the right trade.

I’d rather AA just commit to using him in the BP or as an opener type. He could still be well worth his contract doing that. But asking him to pitch as a regular starter is begging for another injury.

Of all the things you’ve posted, this is the one that makes the most sense. Explains so much 😛😂
that didn't actually happen.. I actually met my wife while waiting tables working my way through college.. she was on a date at the time..

oh and as for being fun at parties.. I do statistical forecasting/data governance for financial risk and economical capital for a major southeastern bank.. that should help answer that question for you...
