2025-2026 offseason thread

I got a feeling we are about to sign Ozuna. I don’t know why. It looks like the pirates are going to do it…. But I’ve got a weird feeling it’ll be us.

I don’t know what the Phillies are doing this offseason. They’ve spent money but haven’t actually improved their team at all. Signed Keller but then traded Strahm for a random RP. As it stands right now I think Atlanta is easily the better team.

When Dombrowski has to actually GM and not just throw money around he’s not very good at it.

AA would have a much more relaxing Christmas if he'd just pull the trigger on whatever trade or deal he has in his pocket and get it over with lol then, we can also relax. Value shmalue

That’s a very good point I hadn’t thought of….. alright- safe to say no Ozuna …. Which, of course, is good… except for Fauxuna…I’ll miss seeing that dude at the games

10/5 rights are irrelevant. If Ozuna comes back, it's strictly on a 1 year deal. And it'll be for 10m or less. If he sucks, no one will want to trade for him anyways. If he's good, we'll want to keep him for the entire season.

Granted, Ozuna is a hard player to carry on a roster when you already have 2 poor defensive OFers. But I suppose too many good hitters is a good problem to have.

I'm sure he has a few he knows he could make right now but is waiting to see if something else comes along.

To clear a 40-man roster spot for reliever Kyle Finnegan, the Tigers have designated outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy for assignment.

Would love to see the Braves sign Tatsuya Imai. I think he has the best mix of upside, age, and lack of acquisition cost (no QO penalty, will only cost money). Moreover, it’s been long overdue for the team to dip their toe back into the East Asian FA market.
