2025 Around The League Thread

More rumors are surfacing about the Braves and who may be available if we don't pick it up. With the Cardinals having Winn would they trade JJ Wetherholt for Sean Murphy?

Meh. Most shit that I've seen across my browsing habits are a bunch of AI bs that cajun was referring to.

If the Braves do sell it's only going to be for players on expiring contracts.

Ozuna is getting a lot of attention but if they do think they could fix SS long term by trading Murphy it would make a lot of sense. The team always likes having 2 good catchers and I'm fine with it but getting Wetherholt in the system would be a big deal and you'd shed 15 million from next years payroll to put into Tucker, a SP, or BP pieces.

I don't think so, unless Murphy just gets insanely hot over the next month. Murphy is good but not amazing. Wetherholt might be a top 10 overall prospect when the new rankings come out.

I honestly kind of wonder if Masyn Winn might not be the guy they look to move in the off-season. He's very solid overall, but his bat is rather mediocre. They could certainly get a haul by moving him in a weak SS market.

If we want to find a trade partner for a SS, I think our better bet is gonna be Cleveland. Eat the rest of Ozuna's contract and offer them Murphy and Ozuna for their top SS prospect, Angel Genao.

By the time the Braves will play the Mets this year, they will only have 3 games left against the NL West (home vs. SF for 3). They will have already completed season series against the Rockies, Padres, Dodgers, and Diamondbacks.
