I know the market has been reset, but Vladdy Jr. has exactly 2 years of elite production at the plate. He's been slightly above the rest of his career. And he provides virtually no value defensively and he's never gonna be likely to be on the cover Mens Health magazine.

this... half a billion for a DH that might not produce 2 wins per year past 30 years old
 
Where AA really fucked up was letting Kirby Yates go. We had an option we declined. I think we would have been 5 games better with him last year. Probably could have kept him for this year if we didnt burn that bridge.
 
Think about all the games we lost because Iggy had to rest and we had to try others to close. Yates was elite. It would have been like having 2 Iglesias.
 
So we watched a game tonight at Steinbrenner Field. The Mets/A’s game is on MLB Network in Sacramento. Really weird to see MLB games in two minor league stadiums. Of course, the two situations are different. A’s at least have something resembling a direction. The Rays, who the heck knows.
