2025 Around The League Thread

I would love to see the Braves medical and decision staff at work..

They walked from Hudson because he failed physical (must not have been juicing enough) -- killing it
slow played Scott deal after medicals and he walked... killing it
granted Canning FA because they didn't want to block Anderson/Elder/Holmes... Killing it
Signed Profar.. loved the amount of juicing he was currently involved in
strider strains a hammy stepping on a spider.

I wouldn't say Scott is killing it. His K/9 is way down and his velo has dropped to 2019 levels.

The Braves just threw some dude named wiles the other night. Still have Jesse freaking Chavez rostered. I think I would take Scott personally.
I don't think anyone is saying they wouldn't. I'm much more concerned with the 5th starter. AA can usually find good pen pieces

I think Morton will be in Atlanta in less than 2 weeks, for whatever that is worth. No way he lasts on the Baltimore roster if he has another poor outing. There are talks about moving him to the pen. We'll see if he is willing to do that (or if it even works). And the Braves are desperate enough to bring him in and try to get him back on track.

I think they will just try and roll with Elder and hope Strider can come back right after the 15 days. I personally think Morton is cooked.. his numbers have been declining for a couple of years if I am remembering correctly.

Sure. But do you want to give 16 million a year to a reliever with declining stuff?
His numbers are weird. He isn't k'n guys at all 7.62 per 9, and he hasn't walked 1 guy all season. He used to be a k or bb guy, but now everything seems to be in play. Just 13 innings though, but a 0.9 off fastball seems not ideal

Scott's slider is still elite and as good as it ever has been.. His fastball is down like State said, but is that early season ramping up, Dodgers asking him to command it better, or a bigger issue. Right now, his outputs look fine, so I would be willing to accept the inputs for now.
