2025 Around The League Thread

The franchise has been on a roller coaster since its inception, but the Rockies have had some pretty good years. Mid-market blues in that they just haven't gotten any value in return for the guys they've unloaded. Bags of non-magical beans for Tulowitzski and Arenado and Story and LaMahieu left through FA.

Only one guy (Jordan Beck) in the line-up with an OPS > .800 in a hitters' paradise.

Aside from their failures as an organization, they need a new park. One that might actually encourage FA pitchers to come play there. But since that isn't happening anytime soon, they need to figure out a way to push the fences back an extra 10 ft.. That would fix a lot of their pitching woes. Someone also mentioned using a thicker, softer grass would cushion balls hit to the outfield more and not allow for as much roll.

There's really only one way to fix the Rockies. They need to invest in hitting. Those 90's-00's teams won because they out-slugged their opponents and weren't slouches on the road. They basically need a Dodgers-level lineup to win there, and a bunch of also-ran pitchers will be enough.

Sadly there's no way they could afford that. A mid-market team compounded by alot of GM mistakes with their veteran home-grown players.

Moving the fences back just makes their outfield even larger.
