Honestly I am a bit surprised they got as much as they did for him. He's a great hitter no doubt, and he's only 28. But he has 8 yrs and 254.5 million remaining on his deal. And he's basically a DH at this point unless SF can convince him to play 1b and he actually gives effort to learn the position. Even without factoring in the attitude issues, it just seems like SF gave up a pretty decent amount for a guy who might not even be playable in 4 years.
