2025 Around The League Thread

Freddie has fallen off a cliff the last 2 months. You would think he's a hitter on our team with the sort of production he's been giving.

Since June 1, Freddie has a slash line of .200/.268/.269. Good enough for a .537 OPS and a 51 wRC+

It’s crazy to me that Freddie would ever have an extended slump. He must be hurt

He's fixing to be 36 so it was gonna happen at some point. He has 2 years left on the deal and they have deferred payments for him until 2040.

The sad but kind of funny thing is that he was so good the first month, his overall numbers still look good.

This is 1,572 of PA's of bad to beyond terrible. And that doesn't include Marcell who has been a zero for two months, or Arcia and other randos. To expound, the Braves have had a total of 3,123 PA's. That means more than 50% of their PA's are from players who are ~20% below league average or worse.

Hyers can go kick rocks. There is no excuse for this.

It may not be Hyers fault, but nothing else can explain the sudden drop off in power this year across the team. Even last year with everyone injured and a mediocre offense they were still top 10 in homeruns.
 
Somebody's gotta take the fall and Hyers is the easiest one to let go. Do it at the all star break and see if there is any improvement the 2nd half.

For reference, in 2023 we had only 5.4% of PAs from players who were 20% below league average or worse.
