2025 Around The League Thread

He can't be any worse than a guy like Hayes. Good defense and gets on base.
it is not about him being an ok/good 3B. it is what value he might add to the Braves specifically. Do the Braves really need a 3B only backup? answer that question and then you can determine his value. If he had more positional versatility, then I think the Braves should keep him. but if he is strictly on the roster to back up Riley, then you have to cash his ass in and get something that benefits the team more.

I really doubt anyone is gonna give anything of substantial value for Nacho. He's better value to us as depth which we will likely need given how fragile Riley and Albies have become.

We're sending Alvarez to the AFL, right? Would be a nice opportunity for him to play some additional positions.
A smart org would have already had him playing additional positions. I don't think a few games in the fall is going to tell anyone anything. perhaps the Braves already know the answer to that question already and thus they only let Nacho play 3B..

who is starting the thread about ABS coming in 2026... players are the only ones who make the challenge call.. teams only get two unsuccessful challenges..

Can you even imagine trying to get twitner to explain leverage to his players and when to use a challenge or not to use a challenge. That would be a 'fly on the wall moment' for me. That dumbass might collapse from the sheer thought of trying to understand leverage.

I also don't get why the league is going this half ass approach.. just put it in place to make all the calls immediately and make the game better. Dickfred is such a dumbass.

Nacho is terrific depth considering Ozzie’s injury history. I’m also hopeful we’re going to hire a manager that isn’t a mouth breather and will actually find playing time to keep guys fresh

Making it challenge-based means it will have minimal impact. Hitters always think pitches on the corners are balls and pitchers always think they are strikes. They will either use up all of their challenges in two innings, or they won't dare use them unless it is obvious.

It will not impact as many calls as many think.

I really think AA needs to pony up and sign Kim to a three-year deal, maybe around $60M or so. There's obviously plenty of risk there, but he's essentially played himself into a nice contract somewhere and the Braves have got to address the revolving blackhole.

Lest we forget. AA said any moves he makes has to make sense for next year. I suspect we extend Kim.

20 AAV seems high on a 3 yr for Kim.. He is really good, but you are approaching high end SS money there.. but then dude is a really good defender at a premium position, so he is probably worth a 3/60 gamble and it will solve SS for the next few years... hopefully.

Kim seems to have settled in pretty good with the team and gets along with everybody. Hopefully him and the Braves can work something out where both sides are happy.
