2025 Homerun Derby Thread

I am willing to be called a boomer to make the point… please don’t make a baseball game into a carnival with carnival games taking the place of an actual baseball game.

I mean I can see the point that endless baseball games where you get position players throwing innings because you run out of pitchers are a drag on the game... but not sure going to some skills competitions as a decider is probably not the best move. I might be more in favor of just letting a game end in a tie and going from a W/L decider for the division but some sort of point system like Hockey.

You understand that the NHL uses a point system, right? So when it gets to that point, the team on the wrong end of that shoot out doesn’t really lose. They’re not completely deciding wins and losses by some gimmick.

Also, and maybe most importantly, a shoot out is much more of playing hockey than batting practice is playing baseball.
 
So just wanted to check in on everyone. I know Enscheff and deester were very concerned that the all star game would be played in a JIM CROW state and wanted to ensure yall are OK?

Scary times in Atlanta... is everyone ok? Does anyone need bail money for all the jim crow laws?

I fondly remember being accused of being a jim crow supporter so im just doing my part to ensure the biggest whiners are doing OK after they moved the game back to the Jim crow state

What a strange attempt at a flex. So random

I don’t really care about one’s politics either. Yeah I thought them moving the game was dumb. Not fair to the org, fans, and businesses that can’t control what state officials do. But man what a strange post.
