2025 Spring Training Thread

I believe he ended up with a hurt oblique the last time we saw him. May be good to get the kid back healthy.

Someone on another site mentioned that Holmes is turning heads in ST. I haven't seen anything concrete about it and unfortunately there was no statcast data for his appearance vs the Rays. I want to see some data on him and AJSS this spring. If we don't sign/trade for anyone, these 2 seem like the most likely to round out the rotation to start the year.

AJSS should have some after pitching 2 innings yesterday. Cheff posted Waldreps after 1 inning

They didn't have the statcast cameras for either start. So we won't see any data on either of them until reg season or if they pitch at a road site that has those cameras available.

I wonder if the Nats park will have a statcast camera so we can see some data on pitchers. Probably not going to have many exciting guys going tonight.. but I still like to look.

Hackenberg looked good. He walked 3 but they were close. Excited about him this year.

I thought he left it up a little more than he should have. When he kept it down it looked devastating.

When it was up, the hitters seemed to spit on it. Didn’t seem to fool them at all.

His first ST he probably had some jitters. He'll be the next one they probably rush unfortunately.

Elder didn’t look as sharp, but Eli at SS didn’t do him any favors.

Both missed plays at SS looked like really tough plays. Not sure if a better SS would have made them or not.

And they shouldn't. There is talent there but I'm not thinking it's otherworldly enough to push him. Again, I'm in the minority when it comes to him. He got away with things in the lower levels that will get him massacred at the next level. That said, I do think could be solid as a major leaguer...with time.
