2025 Spring Training Thread

Early it looks like he can’t get the FA up, and can’t keep the change/slider down. I’ll take a 22 year old guy with good stuff who can’t quite execute yet any day…assuming it’s actually good stuff.

Elder pisses me off. I know it’s just ST games, but I like to win them and have some actual Mo going into season.

I’ll never forget the spring of ‘82 where we won a bunch in the spring and everyone was like, “last place bottom dweller Braves have something cooking…..” and then we started the season with that amazing streak on TBS. Whole generation of Braves fans born right then….

I have become Abe Simpson.

Pretty much who he has been. He can’t locate his pitches. Misses the strike zone too often, and when he locates they live in the strike zone. It’s one thing to challenge hitters with a 97 mph fastball in the zone, it’s another when your slider and changeup live in the heart of the plate.

He drives me crazy, but probably worth noting what's enscheff said - he's 22. Don't think he even started pitching till his senior year or something crazy like that. Both the Spencer Ss debuted at 23

DOB now saying that Elder’s new pitch def. has Snit’s attention and that he’s been “working on stuff” and figures to be a solid fixture in the rotation all year- thus AA saw no real need to add SP.

I feel better now.

I don't believe you. I need a link to him saying that.

Well, the good news is that in a world where Harris is healthy Snit still thinks Albies is the best choice to leadoff vs a RHP.

At least we have the comfort of Snit being consistent.
