Umm, Walcott is the #4 prospect in the sport according to FG. I have a hard time believing Texas would trade him for a rental DH. A trade with him would have to include massive payroll relief going to the Rangers, and probably Murphy.

Very Flirtatious, but Doubts What Love Is.
I still think he’s earned a lot of faith for the foundation of success he’s built over the past almost-decade. And I think he’s made a lot of good, and some great, decisions for the franchise. And I still remember, moreover, how forlorn and rudderless the organization felt in the years prior to his tenure.
Having said that, I’ve been saying that this deadline and the coming offseason are absolutely massive tests of that good-faith. Coming up empty over the next hour, failing to smartly replace Snitker after 2025, and (most importantly) swinging and missing on loading up this offseason would erode the preponderance of benefit he’s built against severe doubt.
