2025 Trade Deadline Thread

I’ll be shocked if Mr. “We’re not selling” starts to sell before this weekend. He still has false hope that the Braves can win hitting 5 homers every night like last night.

In all seriousness, if he were to sell, I’d be shocked if it happened before July 28.

It will be after the ASG for obvious reasons. No need to bring in a storyline that the hometown team is selling even though it's obvious that's what the team will do. Save that headline for another day.

After the Giants leave town is when I'd expect the selling to start unless the Braves somehow go like 9-1 between then and now. The Braves usually forget how to hit for the week after the break, so I seriously doubt they aren't 15 games under by the deadline.

If Murphy is traded will people forget this clown exists?
If we had an unlimited payroll and a good farm system then Murphy would stay put no doubt but we don't so he can help set us up going forward at SS. I've heard the Rays and Padres linked more than anybody else. I don't see the Padres trading the #3 prospect in baseball but he won't be ready until 27-28 anyways. The Rays have Carson Williams who I'd love to get and he's in AAA and will be ready soon and that's just what we need.

Carson Williams in AAA Durham
Hit: 45 | Power: 60 | Run: 55 | Arm: 70 | Field: 70 | Overall: 55

If we can get a guy like Aloy at 22 it could change there stance on what they would want back in a trade.

I don’t know anything about this guy, or any other potential targets, but this is the type of player Murphy should be traded for…and nothing else.

He's got a lot of power and is great defensively with a cannon of an arm. Hes really good over there at SS and will be ready to step in right out of ST. The Rays could use pitching so if Holmes could be used to get him to I'd be all over it. The Rays have the 42 pick in the comp A round so Murphy and Holmes for Williams and the 42nd pick would work.

Can anyone point me to a successful major league hitter who had strikeout rates similar to Carson's in the minors? Not trying to be snarky, I just genuinely can't think of anyone.
