this is a week too late, right... if DF came back up and stayed the rest of the season and won ROY.. the PPI pick would NOT be awarded because he wasn't on 2 lists to begin the season...

It’s just so easy to just give a comp pick to the team if any player wins ROY.
Or not do it at all.
Teams already solved the problem of holding guys back by doing more pre-debut extensions. It’s not like the possibility of a comp pick was much of an incentive anyways.

He still qualifies if he wins rookie of the year. I think it’s you have to accumulate one full season of playing time so if he’s down only a week or two, then he will get that.
They were working on an extension. No extension and he stays down for the extra year. It will get announced after his first game.

I love these deals. Gives the players life changing money while allowing them to still cash in later on. Team bares the risk but at a discounted rate. Win/win.
This is how all 40 man players should be. This team control with arb crap and options is stupid. Have a 40-50 man roster that can be used interchangeable and everyone is under a contract that fits into the cap and floor.

Ladies and gentlemen and Escheff.. we have a trade. With the Angels for AAAA RHP Victor Meredos. Has a good slider. Throws hard but FB sucks. Might find some success if they can improve his FB shape. He has options so he probably is emergency P depth for rotation and pen.
