The Braves had the opposite luck last year. They started the season 9-19 in one-run games. I believe that 9-19 mark was in their first 64 games, where they were 27-37 overall. At one point they lost 5 one-run games in a row. Earlier they played in 7 one-run games in a row which was a record, and 12 out of 17 (going 5-7).
So if you imagine the Braves going just 15-13 in those 28 games, that's 6 extra wins. On September 23rd they were 75-83... turn that into 81-77 and they are in the thick of that playoff race.
This year they've played in exactly 3 one-run games out of 23.
