2026 : Around the League

The Braves had the opposite luck last year. They started the season 9-19 in one-run games. I believe that 9-19 mark was in their first 64 games, where they were 27-37 overall. At one point they lost 5 one-run games in a row. Earlier they played in 7 one-run games in a row which was a record, and 12 out of 17 (going 5-7).

So if you imagine the Braves going just 15-13 in those 28 games, that's 6 extra wins. On September 23rd they were 75-83... turn that into 81-77 and they are in the thick of that playoff race.

This year they've played in exactly 3 one-run games out of 23.

Our luck last year was biblically bad.

Is Walker Buehler back? His last start, his fastball was sitting 94-95 with life, looking better than any point since his surgery. He's generating K's at a rate not seen since pre-surgery.

was a fan of grabbing guys like walker and soroka because of their pedigree prior to injury and being a few years out from injury.. these guys didnt just forget how to pitch..

Walker credits his improvement to some advice he got from the Pads coaches, for what it's worth. He was sitting lower 90s to start this season.

For Soroka, he's got to prove he can stay healthy. He still hasn't thrown more than 90 innings since 2019.
