He averaged 98.2 in 2025, and seems to be holding 98 right now.

Definitely looks a little scattershot, and he had 3 strikes overturned in the 1st that were a combined 1" off the plate.

Murphy's four seamer was certainly not jumping, but it did average over 2500 RPM. That spin rate would be in the 98th percentile among SPs last year. That's a pretty great start, even if the velocity is below average.

Skenes went from 98.8 in 2024 to 98.2 in 2025. SPs pretty much start losing velocity in their early 20s, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if Skenes is under 98 in 2026.
