2026 ST Thread

not so worried about his results.. just his fastball is cooked right now. He won't make it through major league lineups 2 times through.

Just make him a reliver and be done with it.

His FB still needs some ramping up.

And we don’t have the luxury of moving him to the pen…. Not until SS2, Waldrep, and AJSS get back…. And Deester gives the green light to the young fellas….

that green light needs to be primed and ready.. cause it will be needed sooner than later.

2 years from this very minute, nearly all of our core will be still be younger than 31. Only Sale, Olson, and Ozzie will be older than 31, if you still consider Ozzie as part of our "core." And Ozzie isn't even under contract 2 years from now. Nacho, Miller, Lodise, Dixon, etc might end up replacing him before then.

In regards to typical aging curves, these players should still be in their "primes" and under contract in 2028: RA, Riley, Drake, Harris, Strider, Schwelly, Waldrep and AJSS. This doesn't count any prospects we might develop into above average major league players during this time.

Now whether or not they would actually be playing at peak levels is certainly a valid argument to make given all the guys I listed have fairly significant injury and/or performance issues. But technically, they will all still be in their primes relative to typical aging curves.

Within 2 years the “is it time to initiate the rebuild?” discussion will start because the window is starting to close. M That’s my main point, and the “goalposts” never changed since I made the statement. Whatever gotcha comments you want to also pull out of that statement is up to you.

So…the same velocity he’s had since coming back from the surgery he had 2 years ago. How much more ramp up time will he need I wonder?
