This is such an odd comment they make when they want to justify low velocity.

Sale's velocity looked fine. Ritchie's velocity looked fine. So...yeah.

This isn't the 70s where guys sit around drinking Coors all winter and use ST to get in shape. These guys are in shape before they show up.

I tend to agree. It's about 10 days since pitchers reported. He's had time to build up strength. I know they are probably being a little delicate with him, but 4-5 mph off is super concerning.

Tv said Lopez drew back and threw it harder on a 2-strike fastball vs Lee. I really wish we knew what that velocity was

I think he is saying SS elected the braces for a partial where Holmes just rested it. But it is not apples to apples regardless. Different point in season. Probably different tear. Who knows what else.
