I'm not going to argue against it being an incorrect call. Here is the side view of it. Seems like a ball, though maybe not quite as egregious as people made it out to be.

Ritchie is better than Elder/Cookie/Martin Perez/J. Saurez... yet he will be in trip A to start the year. I guess because the games in April and May don't count as much as they do later in the year.

He will be in AAA because he's not even on the 40 man roster yet and the team needs pitching depth.

I get the reason. But there are a ton of Cookies/J. Saurez's on the waiver wire that can be stashed in trip A on a minor league deal.

If it were just one of Elder/J. saurez types, then fine.. but having 2 quad A pitchers throwing in a six man rotation is stupid imo. And that is my prediction on what is going to happen.

I haven't seen anyone (haven't really looked either) blame the DR losing that game on that one bad call.. but the game should NOT have ended on that one bad call when the technology is there to get these things right. why is this even a debate.. Ump blew it and a good game was tarnished because of it.

hopefully JR is not going to be on the trip A shuttle.. the hope is he is good enough to be a main feature in the rotation.. Strider and Schwelly probably have options that no one gives a crap about too..

and we all know that it will be more than 2 appearances.. one will transition into the pen and get spot starts for a couple of months.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing alot of Richie and Diddier this year. Two starts at the beginning of the year from a AAAA guy isn't a big deal.
