Sure. I don't recall 5 people, much less 10, saying that our pitching depth was completely fine.
There may have been some people rationalizing AA's decisions or pointing out that we do have some decent depth options in AAA in the form of prospects who are ML ready. But I think 99% of the people on this board held the opinion that we needed a quality starter in FA.
And while it doesn't justify making zero moves in FA to address the SP depth, it is absolutely correct when someone says you can't adequately plan for 2 or more SPs to go down for 3+ months before the end of ST. Even if we had added Ranger Suarez, Dylan Cease, or Framber Valdez we would likely still be looking at Elder making potentially 10+ starts in 2026 with the injuries to Schwelly and Waldrep.
Two things can be true at the same time. AA put us in a bad spot by not signing a quality SP in FA, but it's also unrealistic to have expected him to sign/trade for 2 (or more) quality SPs given our budget and roster construction.
