2026 ST Thread

Go get Kyle freeland. He's in the last year of his contract on a team not trying to compete... he should be cheap to acquire and the Rockies should have no problem moving him.

Depending on the "kids" to stabilize a rotation is just as gutsy as depending on oft injured pitchers to stay healthy. We don't need to rehash the failure of AA to deftly make an SP pitching move during the FA period, BUT damn this feels like he's hiding something 😂😂😂

I just dont understand why they couldnt add someone like Quintana last year or Littel this year. They werent expensive and were available late in the offseason.
Because there's this constant obsession with perceived "value" and a lack of willingness to accept that the needle has moved significantly on pitcher salaries. I can understand being scared of potentially having dead money, but really AA is just betting on the wrong horses because having some "dead money" is pretty much guaranteed these days. Maybe Enscheff can count for us, but there's probably been at least two or three dozen starting pitchers available between the last two offseasons who would have legitimately helped us, and we insist on sticking with guys whose arms aren't going to hold up or thinking all of our young prospects are going to be aces. We spent, what, 20 million, on the pipe dream that Kelenic would live up to anything after he failed in two other organizations (and is on his way to failing in a fourth), but we can't take arguably much safer risks with proven veteran pitchers?

He certainly wasn't injury-proof and it would have burned my ass to commit 8 years and 220 million or whatever it was, but I bet the list of people bitching about Fried's contract would be fairly small if we had him right about now.

I think that splitter is more of DF changeup. not sure if the spin is labeling it a splitter.. but it is something that usually breaks downward and has a 10 mph delta...

Nobody around here has disagreed with the premise that the Braves could’ve used more MLB-quality pitching depth going into 2026; so what is the point of continuously and smugly posting like this, as if you’re showing anyone up?
Hey look, here it is!
So SS the first, SS the second, Waldrep, and Wentz. How many starters would AA need to sign to cover everybody getting hurt?
"But noBody cOUlD HaVE pRedICted AlL tHesE InjuRIEs so It'S oK tHEy aDded nobODy derrrrrpppppp"

I didn't even have to go dig up any past moronic comments. One fell in our laps immediately after you made this stupid gotcha attempt.

Will you come back and admit you were wrong about "Nobody around here has disagreed"
