3/21 GDT: ATLANTA vs PITTSBURGH, 1:10

who knows.. but he put up great numbers offensively and defensively in rookie ball.. he is on my radar this year since that is a position of need. We also have Herbert who was Allard's battery mate... I am interested in how he comes back this year.

No I agree he's intriguing. I was referring to Astudillo possibly reaching a Pena ceiling. Morales(?) and Herbert I am very intrigued with. We are about to have some real talent at C... It's just going to be all in the low levels for a while.

Moralse is 21.. He struggled with passed balls this last season.. but he could be a fast mover. Herbert will be a bit behind.

Chill the **** out.

Awwww...did I strike a nerve??? Or is it the taste of the Gattis crow (like in Sturg's case)?

Matt couldn't pick Astudillo out of a police lineup, yet his opinion that he's a one-tool player without a position (when he's never seen him play) holds more water than the scouting report on him from his minor league Manager that 1976 provided does?

lol.. I wouldn't call that article a scouting report but more of a fluff article, especially since the Phils let him go by the end of the next season... and if you read the article, it actually says he doesn't have a natural position. And since you state it is my OPINION.. then yes.. I am correct, my opinion is that he doesn't have a position.. and I based that on a few different articles and pieces I have read on him... PLUS if you look at his stats.. he has played all over the field. But as I have said.. everyone can resume their hope he is the next whatever... I still hold my feelings that a guy who doesn't make it past A+ in six years is a flawed player.. but to each their own. He is intriguing though..

Someone clearly struck a nerve with you. You're throwing a ****ing fit over nothing.

And I never doubted Gattis, so get that **** out of here.

clvclv throws some very strange fits... really don't get this one. Was easy to have a rational conversion about said player that means almost absolutely nothing.

He's the second most pompous poster I've seen... just behind 57 on the political boards, of course

And that was all they were discussing - the fact that he interested them. The "best" player I noticed anyone compare him to was another player that gets listed as a Catcher who also doesn't really have a position - Brayan Pena.

That was really the only point - 1976 and Gov knew that he was simply a no-name who was a longshot to ever advance much further, but thought he was interesting - they didn't need to be told that since they read the same articles you have. Like I said, late spring, going to be a really long season with not much interesting to pay close attention to other than minor leaguers' progress, the draft, and international signings. Unfortunately we're all already looking for pretty much anything to be interested in.

wasn't trying to be a buzz kill.. just rode that bike about 2 months ago and watched him through fall league. lost interest in him about then..

Wow y'all, I didn't expect me bringing up Astudillo and having a little discussion with Gov. about him turning into such fireworks. But if y'all want to shoot off some more fireworks, I'll note Jace Peterson is now hitting .275 this ST with an .808 OPS after some seemed to write him off.

Now let the fireworks begin while I get out of the way! Just kidding. :icon_biggrin:
