3/25 GDT Fried vs Reds

Riley has an interesting swing. I can see why KLaw complains about bat speed but I don't think bat speed is actually a problem. His swing isn't compact but in a way too short a look at it, it doesn't seem slow.

I still think Glaus' swing is the best comp but I'll throw Nelson Cruz out too. Not saying he's got the ability of either, just the bigger body slugger with the longer swing reminds me of them.

Looks like Dansby made a small tweak to his stance/swing.

Doesn’t he understand that counting stats dont matter anymore. He doesn’t believe in the new age stats I guess. Ha no wonder the Braves signed him. The old school guys in the front office must have made AA sign hm.

Less funny since Topps has WAR on their cards now

Long overdue to get this guy in the rotation

That's a brand new pitch for him, so calling his addition to the rotation "long overdue" is a bit of a stretch.

I can't wait to see new statcast data on him after spending a year working with the Braves new analytics department. The addition of a SI and SL/FC could be a game changer for Fried with the 94+ velocity and that plus or better CU he already has.

Liked Fried since we traded for him. I hope he comes out and locks down his spot in the rotation.

Puig is probably going to have a monster season. He would’ve have looked good in RF and hitting clean up behind Acuna, JD and FF.

I guess we really didn’t want to add a guy who could set a bad example for the kids, but he has MVP type of talent when he’s right.

Eh. He's gone from overrated to probably now underrated, but let's not get carried away. We now have 4 years of him simply being mediocre to pretty good.
