3/30 GDT Sunday night baseball vs padres

It's easy to forget that the Braves offense was pretty hot to start 2024 for the first month or so before falling off. I'm going to choose to believe it will be the opposite this year. Start off cold and then hot the rest of the year. Their have been a ton of hard hit balls that haven't found holes and the lineup as a whole have seen a ton of pitches. It will get better (I hope).

We're not playing well (obviously). But we've also had some **** luck with balls in play.

BABIP Gods have forsaken us again.

The BP was the glaring weakness coming into the season and it's been worse than our offense so far (if that's possible). Hopefully we can get Kimbrel up to speed pretty quick. I would already have Chavez in Atlanta and Neris a ticket out of town if it were me.

Obviously a really small sample, but profar's EV (83.9) is much more in line with career avg than last season. Again, really small sample

Lol, yeah I would say 12 batted balls in play is a pretty small sample. He could literally go 2-4 tonight with a homer and double both over 100mph to go along with 2 Ks and his average EV would be up over 90.

Harris has a EV of 78.3. Are we worried about him too?

Yes, I am worried about Harris. Since September of 2023, he's 99 wrc+. That's 600 PA. He plays good D still, but he's not the guy we thought he'd be.

It's no wonder the braves can't score any more. Ozzie and Harris are just league avg hitters now, and catcher, ss, and LF are black holes.

He's been hurt for much of that time.

You pick the weirdest data sets.

We have enough data on Harris to know what he is.

Ozuna is at a career low of 87 mph. I assume you are worried about him too? I get that I'm talking to the most irrational Brave fan on the board, but come on dude. It's been 4 games. Even a month from now I wouldn't breathe too much into these numbers.

Not sure where you were last season, but the same guys are just continuing what started last season.

AJSS with 22 in break on the split

I haven't looked at his savant data yet, but from what I saw, he clearly has some plus pitches.. he just needs to learn to locate better (not always easy thing to do).. He had a lot of swing and misses, which is really good. But he had a lot of non competitive pitches that drove the pitch count up and got him out of good counts. But I liked what I saw from a pitcher who is only 22.. hopefully a little polish and he will shine really nice

This is so stupid lol.

2023 was the best season we've had in a long time, and both weren't even here.

Snit fumbled that 2023 NLDS so badly. One week off to rest, 3 days off between Games 1 and 4, and he still was using Chavez and Tonkin in high leverage early in the games with a fully rested back end of the bullpen.

Acuna is also a spark for this team.. but 2023 was a juiced ball year and the Braves just stood at the plate and played home run derby.

I am hoping that Acuna's return will bring life back into the team... but right now this team looks like they are literally playing out the season after 3 games.. maybe it is good they don't show emotion.

Your premise would hit harder if not for last season. Since May of 2024, the braves are a bottom 5 offense.

What about since May of 2023? How about May of 1996?

Your data points make no sense and they leave out pretty relevant facts like Riley, Ozzie, Harris, and Acuna missing a combined 280 games last season. You don't think missing half of your offense for the half of the season is relevant?

If injuries were the reason, why did AA get rid of seitzer? AA seems to think it were more than injuries.

The team the Braves were fielding the second half of last year is not the same Braves team we are looking at now. Whitfield, Urshela, and the like are not really a fair comparison.

By what metric. They were 13th in runs scored in the second half. From May 1st to the end of 2024 they were 21st in runs scored and 19th in wRC+.
