3/30 - OPENING DAY VS THE GNATS!

Love the pitch clock, but I think it’s going to be pretty clear pretty quickly that the new pickoff rule is going to be a disaster. Stealing bases aren’t exciting when there’s no risk of being thrown out.

That was the first thing that stood out to me.

I mean, could’ve told you that when the rule was first suggested (and I probably did).

Yep! If Allard is healthy, the starting rotation is 10 deep (ATL & Gwinnett).

Yeah, thats a no on Allard. Wright, Strider, Fried, Morton, Schuster with Dodd, Soroka, Anderson, Elder as depth.

Is it just me or have the Braves opened on the road a lot in recent years?

Schiller said they've requested to open on the road because it gives the grounds crew more time to get ready, and they believe the team forges chemistry and bonds better right off the bat on the road.

That surprisingly made a lot of sense when I read it. Plus it gets one road trip out of the way when they've already been away from home for several months.

Sucks for fans though. Home openers are much less exciting when the team has already played multiple games.
