4/10 GDT: Reds game 1

Albies is going to be a .650-.700 OPS guy who plays reasonable defense. He just needs to be dropped down to the 9 hole in the lineup. At this point you have to hope you get out of Arcia what you wanted from Albies and vice versa. Murphy/d'Arnaud (when he's back) need to hit 5&6 with Harris hitting 2nd and Olson and Riley each dropping a spot. I would then go Ozuna/Rosario for 7th in case they actually connect, followed by Arcia then Albies to get a little speed on the bases, assuming they do get on, ahead of Acuna. Makes for a pretty weak bottom of the line-up with a lot of swing and miss, but better that than spreading out the rally killers. Albies contract says he plays most of the time. If they can get him straightened out, bump him up to 6 where he can split the two RH Catchers.

And, while I'm here, Anderson is done. He couldn't make it when his arm as healthy. I can't see that changing in two years unless he re-invents himself with a different arm slot.

Elder the soft seems to be the #5 guy. Dodd and Schuster are finding out what weak LH stuff without supreme control gets you against real everyday ML hitters.

At a certain point AA is going to have to bite the bullet at either LF or 2B and just call up Grissom.

Its silly that he is in AAA at this point.

I disagree.

I think it is still SSS theatre on him. He did not have a lot of seasoning in the minors and skipped AAA. I also think the Braves are looking at things like his contact quality and seeing how that is vs just box score results. He flamed out late in the year, maybe he needs more time maturing.

He still needs to work on his defense. I'm not convinced he can hit well enough to be a corner OF. He needs to keep working at SS. I do not expect Arcia to be this guy much longer. Arcia has shown he can't maintain over long samples.

Snit has PROVEN he is not going to move anyone around the diamond. He is going to put the same 7 names up there if he can. He'll rotate the catcher and the DH. That is it. If you want Grissom moving all over the place, get a new manager. Plus moving all over might be bad for a young guy.

I think the Braves should continue to develop Grissom as a SS. DH and LF should be able to filled otherwise. Need Grissom working out for the long term and he's likely going to fill in for Arcia or Ozzie over a long season.

More concerned about Harris' and Ozzie hitting than putting Grissom in LF.

Soroka could be ready right after the break. He’ll need his innings limited but man that would be a big boost. Like Cheff said, we’ll be shopping for 2 bats at the deadline unless Grissom can play LF then we’d only need 1. I’d like for the Cubs to be out of it and Happ be available. He’d be a good sign in the offseason.

Scratch Happ off the list. He just signed a 3 year extension with the Cubs.
