4/12 gdt: Lets win

Don't forget to take a moment to think about the tough loss today for the Phillies against those pesky Marlins. It makes the Braves win all the better.
 
This will sound crazy given how amazing Acuna has been but any initial advanced reads of note?

My only concern is he still seems to be hitting a ton of ground balls (notwithstanding his double to the track today), albeit I think i can offhand already remember like 3-4 ABs alone where he missed a bomb by like 5-10 feet. Question really just should we be expecting the 45 bomb power return

Again, he's been incredible, he's just set a standard where you also expect him to play at a 40-50 bomb type of pace per 162

I think making good contact and good ABs a better place to be at the beginning of the season. Olson is a perfect example. Hitting bombs in spring training and now hitting mostly air.

Braves won

Rosario with the game winning bomb
Minter doing the Dennis Eckersly
Strider to overcome rough start and finish strong with 100mph gas to get his 9th K
Strider giving Krantz the credit for chewing his ass out on the mound

Good:
Ozzie continued his hitting streak
Big crowd showed up for a school night and very active
We escaped top of 8th without giving up a run
Hilliard continues to impress both defense and at the plate and stealing that base in the 7th
Grissom is probably already packed

Less than good:
Olson striking out like a broke sailor
Ozuna striking out like a broke sailor when Cy’s Mom is out of town
Arcia’s wrist - at least it isn’t broken

Tomorrow is an off day. Hate that.

Doubles trying to hit home runs. His swinging strike rate concerned me early on. Sample is growing.

Freeman will always be a far superior player.
 
Braves .692 win percentage is the 2nd best in baseball. Kind of hard to believe with the injuries and shaky starting pitching

Yes sir - and we’ve played half our games on the road -including three at Busch. And played the Padres.

We are about get a lot better with the Calvary on the way too.
