4/17 GDT... Going for the sweep

I don't think the issue is whether this team is "sad," because I think that's already been pretty much decided. My only question is whether or not we can manage to lose more than 100 games which would take us from "sad" to "pathetic."

It's not the team that's sad, it's how the team is being run (in this example). That's the problem here.

153-9 here we come! Was following the drip-drip-drip of the evaporating lead on my phone. Glad we came back and won, but it's almost comical how it looks like the only easy games this team is going to have this year is when it is getting blown out after the first few innings.

I believe this is wisler's side day to throw so it shouldn't effect his start. Maybe they move it to Wednesday just to be safe.

Bingo. That's what DOB was saying - today's Wisler's normal BP day, so they just used those bullets in the game instead. He's still starting on Tuesday.

As for Arodys, there was an article in the paper about how Fredi wants to be really careful with him to keep him healthy (lawl). Won't pitch again until Wednesday most likely.

#Braves will likely moved Wisler back to Wednesday or Thursday, could start Teheran Tuesday on regular rest.

What a strange sweep that was.

Yea, Fredi managed it like his job was on the line and as if a playoff. Specifically by using his best relievers multiple innings for the first win. Pulling starters if any trouble as early as 4th or 5th inning. And even using the next scheduled starter in game three for a save situation.

I think of one of the biggest indicators of a manager in trouble is "obvious managing" by said manager. I agree we may have seen some of that this weekend. On the other hand, I think Fredi did want to get the team off the schneid and show the guys that he's not throwing in the towel this early. Not bad to have a pride thing going.

Fredi seems to be spreading the workload among the relievers better than in past years, when he would virtually run guys like Gearrin and Avilan into the ground.

Grilli is a bit of a challenge because he apparently is not ready to go on consecutive days.

All of these pitching ssituations Viz,Grilli and Wisler were covered on the radio broadcast during the game. Wisler ws interviewed after the game and explained that being his throwing day he is/was in a situation to throw an inning. Although generally (according to Wisler) it would have been a long relief spot. Took that to mean there to put out a fire in any of the first three innings.

Curious to know how the team handles that.

Wisler was not at all surprised he was asked to come in

Wonder if this will force a managerial change by les marlins

Certainly going to be interesting to see how things play out in south FLA over the summer - I've personally thought several of the "experts" were more than a little nuts when they've discussed the Fish as potential darkhorses that the Mutts and Gnats need to keep an eye on. Their "Ace" already doesn't want to be there, their $300 million-man is quickly establishing himself as injury-prone, and they don't have many other people who can do much to get Dee Gordon in when Bour's not hitting against Braves' pitching. Even if Fernandez and Chen pitch pretty well, there just isn't much behind them.

Didn't hear the interview, but that was kinda the feeling I got as well. Certainly didn't surprise me when I heard them say he was coming in.

With Folty getting closer, I'm beginning to wonder if Norris isn't inching closer to a pen role with each start.

All need to know about the Marlins was Yelich was pitched around to get to the franchise player in the 9th Saturday.

Didn't they fire Redmond last year early after being swept by the Braves ?

Yes, but this is the way most fans on here expect the team to be managed every game, all year long. Every win is life or death.
