Late to the party. Why did Williams only pitch 3.1 innings (56 pitches) with a decent lead...injury or something else?

He was bumped up a day since Teheran is under the weather. He was on 3 days rest and walking a tightrope all game.

Nice outing by Weber. Kid throws strikes.

So at this point . . . Weber takes Perez' rotation spot?

Personally, I'd go with Weber instead of going to Folty or Blair next. I say that because I like Weber and still think he can be a quality starter and also I don't want to start Blair's clock yet.

Has Folty developed enough of a quality secondary pitch to keep ML hitters off his fastball? IIRC that always seemed to be an issue for him with the big club.

No, he's still a thrower with a ten cent brain IMO. I've said all along that the Gattis trade will likely come down to Ruiz on our side. Good to see him doing so much better this year after he was so bad last year.
